FEDORA WEARING, BRIEFCASE HOLDING CELL SENDING THE MESSAGE = presynaptic
PARK BENCH SITTING CELL WHO GETS THE MESSAGE = postsynaptic

and the space between these two guys is called the = synaptic space.
