ok. i have two points that i want to bring up. i'm hoping after i talk about each of these things you will find yourself thinking, "wow, julie has been right all along!!!"
POINT #1:
The traffic situation in West Lebanon, NH. Horrible. Remember the time it took me 45 minutes to get out of the Wal-Mart parking lot? and then another hour to get to the highway? A process that normally takes 5 minutes.
Anyways, the traffic is so bad and I can think of numerous times where I have thought to myself,
JULIE: I need to be the president of the city planning and zoning committee so I can fix this mess.
i believe i might have even written about it in this very blog. i know i always say that road planners have one of the hardest jobs ever - and i still think that. but - i will also say that the road planning in west leb sucks. plain and simple.
so what do i learn yesterday? well. i learn that they are BUILDING AN UNDERGROUND TUNNEL from the JC Penney plaza to the KMart plaza to make traffic easier. WHAT?! an underground tunnel?!?! really?! that's how your going to fix this problem??? nope. it won't work.
the problem isn't people wanting to get from KMart to JC Penney - the problem is people wanting to get to VERMONT. there are not enough left hand turn lanes. the road simply isn't wide enough to support all that traffic.
THEY NEED TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN LANE FOR PEOPLE GETTING TO VERMONT. it's not that people are crowding the streets to get to ONE STORE, it's that they are trying to get back to THEIR STATE!!!!!
save the money on the underground tunnel.
but, they've already started building it. i saw the beginnings of it today. will it solve some traffic problems? probably. but it will make the parking lots more dangerous and crowded.
anyways. NOW do you see that there really is a traffic problem?? yes. there is.
BUT - yesterday i was watching a huge crane transfer dirt from this giant pile into a truck, and it was so graceful! i loved it. and then i decided that there needs to be a Crane Ballet. of all cranes and machines set to beautiful music.
POINT #2:
from what i hear, there is a buzz going around Los Angeles today, and that buzz is from the Crash Kings show last night at The Roxy. i guess they were amazing, as usual. i watched some videos on youtube and it looked quite incredible. they played their cover of 'Hey Bulldog' which they had never played live before, and also their 'Evolution of Rock Guitar' which they had never played live before.
David Cook went to the show with his whole band. Zach Braff was there with the other guy from Scrubs.
and then apparently there was an AFTER PARTY with even more celebs. AFTER PARTY. there better be a freaking after party that i get invited to one of these days.
AND THEN - Zach Braff went home and wrote this on his facebook page:
"Just saw "The Crash Kings" at the Roxy in LA... When they become huge, don't say I didn't tell you.... :)"
YEP. he said that. me and Zach Braff are just trying to do the same things in life, and that is try to get people to listen to Crash Kings.
i couldn't believe it when he wrote that.
and then the #CrashQueens had a twitter discussion on how famous the band is becoming and how everyone is sad because they're no longer "our band." but happy of course, because they are becoming so successful.
like next week when they are just going to fly to their gig in boston while their crew drives 'Ol Blue across the country.
aahhhhh fame.
anyways. those are my two points. it's 9:35pm on friday night. Ruby Tuesday is crying at the door. she wants to go out. i let her go in the hallway tonight because i'm doing laundry. but, she can't have just a taste - she wants the whole pie.
yep. that's the expression i just used.

i'm driving up to Scarborough, Maine tomorrow to go to a PARTY!! yes. A PARTY. a birthday party for my friend Jenn's landlord's roommate, who might also be his cousin. and Jenn's sister Tammy is also going! they are my oldest friends. in years known, not in ages. i've known them ever since i was a baby. great friends.
i hope i can get to bed early tonight so that i can get up early tomorrow. i am feeling pretty tired today.

TWO THINGS:
1.
Ruby Tuesday just jumped on the couch and brought her favorite toy up with her. and then she kind of fell asleep for a minute. it's the cutest thing ever.
2. there is a Crash Kings show at The Roxy tonight (last night, thursday) in LA and apparently there are many celebs there, including Zach Braff. CELEBS LOVE CRASH KINGS. i learned this via Twitter.
i hope there will be celebs at the show in NYC next weekend!!! oh wait, there will be! their names are Tony, Mike and Jason.
WOW they are so famous.
OKAY! i'm going to bed now. it's 2:35am!!

in my online application for Walgreen's last night i was listing my previous job experience. i put down The Airport Lounge at Hampshire College, where, i'm sure you remember i was an overnight monitor for many years. and i rocked at it.
so then you had to go down and check off the skills or tasks that this job required, or that you learned.
did i check off 'Creating Displays?'
YES. YES I DID. because every night that i worked i had to set up the coffee pot, the creamer, the sugar, the tea, the hot cocoa, the coffee stirrers, napkins, etc! and it looked great!
ALSO - the airport lounge signs that i designed. let me show you, in case you forgot how awesome it was:
yeah. i wonder if that sign is still there. MAN that is awesome.
anyways. yes, i learned some valuable skills in the Airport Lounge.
and it must have showed, because i got a call this morning from the Walgreen's guy asking me to call him about my application.
i called him back just before 11:30 am. i had a 1pm interview. and he offered me the job on the spot.
ON THE SPOT! hired ON THE SPOT. crazy. not more than 16 hours after i submitted my application i had the job. crazy!
who gets hired that fast? ME! cause i'm awesome!
i think i'll be working mostly 4pm-10pm shifts, which i am happy about. although, i have already become friends with a lovely woman who works during the day shift.
i'm not really excited about the JOB. but i'm excited about having more friends. i'm also excited about getting paid to work. because i haven't gotten a paycheck in over a month.
anyways. that's my news for right now.
then i came home and took a nap. i set my alarm for a 1.5 hour nap. but, it turned into an almost 4 hour nap.
and i had a dream that i was on a vacation with my parents and kara and we were staying at this really old hotel. and Amanda Seyfreid, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson also happened to be staying there. and there were two instances where we got into the elevator and Amanda was also in there, and she would say to someone,
AMANDA: Oh, I love your shoes.
PERSON: Thanks!
AMANDA: When you bought them, did they have a lot of them?
it was strange. and then one night i met up with Rachel Bilson and Mischa Barton in the hotel lobby and we ended up hanging out until 5am.
i think this dream comes after the DRAMATIC season 3 finale of The O.C.
OMG. i cried during many parts. they graduated from high school!! aww and all their parents were crying! so i cried too!

can i just tell you how much fun it is having all these new Crash Queen friends?! IT'S THE BEST! and i was thinking about the night i BECAME a Crash Queen. i was at work. from like, 3pm until almost 2am. and i was sitting up with a resident until she fell asleep. and i was online looking for Crash Kings hottness.
and through Twitter, discovered this amazing BRAND NEW Facebook group called Crash Queens. and it totally made my night :)
aaahhhh yes.
anyways, i feel like i have a million new friends. i think my new friend count is up to:

ANYWAYS -
MONDAY NIGHT, if you remember, CRASH KINGS WERE ON JIMMY KIMMEL. in their first ever television appearance!!!!
OH BOY. it was madness. TWITTER MADNESS.
first of all - i couldn't concentrate on anything all day because i was so excited. i wore my Crash Kings shirt along with all the other Crash Queens. i was pretty much useless because all i could talk about was Crash Kings.
and the day went by sooooo sloowww. it was crazy.
SO FINALLY - it's 11:35 and Kara and i turn on Letterman. my fave of the late night hosts. and that makes the time pass quicker until 12:06am WHEN KIMMEL STARTS.
ohhhhh MAN. i got on Twitter and IT WAS GOING CRAZY!!!!!!! like, EXPLODING with Crash Queen Mania. it was so awesome and probably the second best thing happening in the world at that moment.
the first was Crash Kings performing on Kimmel, duh!
and it's even MORE exciting because West Coast Julie was AT THE TAPING of the show!!!! but all the West Coast Crash Queens would see the show three hours later than I would. strange how time works.
anyways - so they announce CRASH KINGS and show some super sexy pics of them at the beginning. and it's like, "holy crap they are performing on TV tonight." i couldn't believe it.
Don Cheadle was on first. i didn't know he was in Iron Man. then some other guy who was kind of handsome and was wearing a plaid shirt, if i remember correctly.
AND THEN, at the commercial break before Crash Kings they say, "coming up next, a performance by Crash Kings!" or something like that, and they show a shot of the guys all playing at pinball machines in the green room! hilarious. it was great.
AND THEN THE LONGEST COMMERCIAL BREAK EVVERRRRR........
AND THEN CRASH KINGS WERE ON TV!!!!!!!
and Twitter went SILENT. all the East Coast Crash Queens totally freaking out.
and, Crash Kings tore up the studio with Mountain Man.
and i was watching them. on tv. it was awesome. I SAW WEST COAST JULIE IN THE CROWD!!!! ROCKING OUT!!!!!!
and then everyone got back on Twitter in super freak out mode. SUPER. FREAK. OUT. MODE.
i thought Jason totally KILLED it on drums. Kara really appreciated Mike's awesome dance moves.
Julie told us all later that Tony seemed SUPER nervous beforehand. (awhe'ssocute.)
and did they only play one song? UM, NO.
THEY ALSO CLOSED OUT THE SHOW!!!!!!!

anyways. i hope it happens. BUT, i keep reminding myself that although i have a job and have been working, i am not making any money. and it's the second part that is kind of catching up with me.... and it's a real bummer.
so! tonight i took action and applied for a job at..... Walgreen's!! ever since i was a little girl i have wanted to work at Walgreen's! and they just happen to be hiring. "what luck have i," says she.
this will be the fourth job i have applied for in....the last month? month and a half? we'll see. it would be good to work there because i shop there a lot to avoid wal-mart. so - maybe it will work out.
but MAN, it also kind of sucks.
QUICK BUT AWESOME THINGS:
- re-dyed my hair teal tonight. one side came out great, the other side came out not so great. i think i may have to re-bleach it
- the other day i was driving and saw that my car was getting 57.5 MPG!!! that's the most since i bought it!!!
- Rooney has a new single out!!! AND IT ROCKS!!! You can stream it here, 'I Can't Get Enough.' I love it. AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM THIS SUMMER WITH HANSON!!!
- Um, SNL last weekend? yep. two things:
1. Whitney Houston on Weekend Update
2. 'Really?' with Seth, Amy and Tina
LOVES IT.

- I think I'm going to finish Season 3 of The O.C. tonight. YIKES! I think it will be pretty emotional, from what I've heard. And I can't believe I whipped through Season 3 so quickly! Yikes!
- I was happy today because i bought a giant bag of spinach for $1.99! Great deal!
- After listening to Blood Feathers so much, I was really craving Sweet Tea. probably because of their song, 'Sweet Tea' which I looooove. So, I went out last night and got one. Delish.
hmmmm. i think that might be all for now. i'm going to go make supper and O.C. it up!!!
earlier this evening Ruby Tuesday kept bringing me over toys and then she would do "the paw thing." she just wanted to play with everything!!! so badly!!! and if i didn't immediately acknowledge she was there, she would reach out and touch my leg. and then do the paw thing. she's so smart!!!!
last night after my shower i opened the bathroom door and she was laying in the hallway holding a pink thing in her hands. i mean, paws. ohhhh it was so cute!
it's official: she's the best.

- re-dyed my hair teal tonight. one side came out great, the other side came out not so great. i think i may have to re-bleach it
- the other day i was driving and saw that my car was getting 57.5 MPG!!! that's the most since i bought it!!!
- Rooney has a new single out!!! AND IT ROCKS!!! You can stream it here, 'I Can't Get Enough.' I love it. AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM THIS SUMMER WITH HANSON!!!
- Um, SNL last weekend? yep. two things:
1. Whitney Houston on Weekend Update

- I think I'm going to finish Season 3 of The O.C. tonight. YIKES! I think it will be pretty emotional, from what I've heard. And I can't believe I whipped through Season 3 so quickly! Yikes!
- I was happy today because i bought a giant bag of spinach for $1.99! Great deal!
- After listening to Blood Feathers so much, I was really craving Sweet Tea. probably because of their song, 'Sweet Tea' which I looooove. So, I went out last night and got one. Delish.
hmmmm. i think that might be all for now. i'm going to go make supper and O.C. it up!!!
earlier this evening Ruby Tuesday kept bringing me over toys and then she would do "the paw thing." she just wanted to play with everything!!! so badly!!! and if i didn't immediately acknowledge she was there, she would reach out and touch my leg. and then do the paw thing. she's so smart!!!!
last night after my shower i opened the bathroom door and she was laying in the hallway holding a pink thing in her hands. i mean, paws. ohhhh it was so cute!
it's official: she's the best.
