i'm at work right now. and i'm so bored. i could fall asleep in like, 5 minutes. i'm so bored. i don't even feel like doing the normal things i do when i'm bored at work, because i get so bored with them. ohhh geeze.
and i have a headache. i'm not sure why.
this weekend was pretty good. worked on saturday. went home on sunday because my uncle and cousin were up. that was nice.
then kara drove back with me and slept over here sunday night. monday she made me breakfast in bed! no kidding! then she made me sugar cookies. then we watched Entourage and then drove into Concord where we went to Old Navy. and then out to dinner.
oohhhh it was so much fun. and then i drove her to maine, and then i had to drive back up here. i hate that drive so much. it's terrible.
last night i watched Date Night. i liked it a lot. i thought it was really funny. i just love Tina Fey so much. always have, always will.
today, we had staff meeting from 12:30 to 2:30. and i'm working now, 3:30-10. it's currently 7pm now. i wish it was the weekend again. i have saturday night off! wasn't planned, but my boss asked if i wanted it off. so i said yes! so, i'll drive back home saturday morning and come back up here sunday evening. nice!
BORED. SO BORED. bored to death. not that bored. but i do wish Jason Schwartzman were here. get it? Bored to Death? the tv show? ahaha... so funny.
Marie Antoinette is playing in the living room right now, speaking of Jason. good movie.
i don't even know what to say!
OH! i bought Rooney tickets online today!!! for me and kara!!!! well, actually they are:
Hanson with special guests Rooney tickets. THEY STILL ROCK. and i'm really really excited.
NEXT FRIDAY!!!! and i've been so excited about seeing them that i keep forgetting that the next day will be Crash Kings!!!!! it's gonna rock so effing hard. it will be like the FIRST TIME I saw Crash Kings when they opened for Rooney. except now i know who they are and they're super famous.
so great.
anyways. what else. i did all my work i need to do tonight. so now it's just about wasting time until i can go home. i'm excited. my dad is coming back up here tonight. so that's nice. and i'm excited to see Ruby.
i kind of still have a headache and it's annoying. i'm so tired. the past two nights i've gotten into bed early! like, between 2-2:30am. and i've had very, very good sleeps. which is unusual.
hmmmmm
today in staff meeting we learned about children who experience trauma and how it effects their adult lives. it was super interesting and depressing at the same time. it was mainly about Ohio and how they prosecute juveniles in the court system. and this one judge realized that they can't prosecute every child the same, because some children have gone through such trauma they don't need punishment, they need treatment. and so Ohio started this whole Trauma Task Force which is about educating communities on how to treat these kinds of children.
oh, it was so interesting. and angering. very angering to then realize that most people in this country simply care about the punishment. not just for children, but for adults, too. everybody's like, "REVENGE! PUNISHMENT!!!! PUNISHMENT!!!!" when most of the time they should be saying, "wow, this person has has such a traumatic past, let's get them treatment so they can try and deal with this."
and money for the treatment is exactly what's being cut from this state's budget and i'm sure other states around the country.
changing subjects:
i had a turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich today and it was delish. i made it. and it was so great. and i toasted the bread and melted the cheese. totes yum.
i'm hungry now.
AND!!! in other news:
one of my readers graciously offered up her house to River City Extension after reading about it in this blog!!! so that's wonderful and awesome. so, REMEMBER, it's never too late to help a band out.
ALRIGHT! i guess that's it. for now. probably for tonight. because i'm tired. tomorrow i have a meeting at 12:30. and then i'm working 3:30-6pm. and then i have to go out and buy Ruby Tuesday food because she's pretty much all out. and i had a dream last night that i went out and bought her food.
ok! hope everyone is having a great night! talk to you soon!
♥,
Julie

Hey everyone,
So tour is only 3 weeks away, and could not be more excited to hit the road. Unfortunately, there is a lot of us going, and it's a super expensive trip, so hotels are not an option for us. Basically, we're asking if we can sleep over. If you live in, or under an hour from any of the cities we are playing this August, we need to humbly request your floor space for an evening, before we shove off the next morning for the following date. If you're able to house us, or find someone who can, let us know. We will make sure you get into the show in your city free of charge, and get taken care of etc. Thank you, we love you all a lot, and look forward to seeing you this summer.
Joe
Yes, that's the same Joe who emails me back when I email him. From the one minute real-life group conversation I had with him in NYC, and from the emails he sends, he seems like a lovely person. They all seem like really lovely people. And they're super awesome because they're in River City Extension.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT:
They need places to stay. And you right now reading this are a wonderful person. And wouldn't you love you have a super great band stay in your house? And give you free tickets to their show??? Yes, I think you want that.
You'd be super helping them out, and then getting free concert tickets in return. WIN. WIN.
So, here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to post their tour schedule RIGHT HERE IN THIS ENTRY and you will look and see if your city, or another city within an hour away, are on this list.
OK, let's do that now:
VIENNA, VA - 6 AUGUST

"you wouldn't've jumped."
sooooooo hi.
guess what? i'm at work right now! which is where i always am. because i work here. and i live here. the baby just fell asleep, so i'm taking a minute to blog. because i've missed you all.
so, the last time i talked to you was a few days ago. i had just gotten back from court in Brattleboro. yep. ummm.... not much is going on.
i just finished watching Avatar. i started it last night and watched the last half hour this morning. i probably should't've done that because the last half hour is all war and battle scenes, which i didn't like, so it turned the whole movie sour.
geeze, it was just so loud! all the explosions and gunfire. i didn't like it.
overall, i thought the movie was okay.
(as with all cinema) i started the movie thinking, "this isn't going to be as good as Titanic." i generally think that about all things in life.
and - it wasn't. that i can be firm in my belief - it was not as good as Titanic. even in terms of storyline and dialogue, i thought Titanic was stronger. and, i can be unbiased about Titanic and say that the dialogue is not very good. but i thought the dialogue in Avatar was even worse. it just sounded so FAKE. like, it seemed like it was a struggle for the actors to even say it.
and then you read the credits and it takes like, an hour to go through all the names of the visual effects people. and then just, "written by James Cameron."
i was talking to Aliya last night and we were just generally talking about Avatar and she said,
ALIYA: If they had put even half of the effort into the script and storyline as they did the visual effects, it might have been a really good movie.
and i totally agree with her and couldn't have said it better myself.
YES, the visual effects were pretty incredible. i mean, everything looked REAL. like, REALLY REAL. just like it was happening in real life. REALITY. but it wasn't. and even that was kind of a bummer for me. it LOOKED real. but it WASN'T. none of it was! and in today's cinema where everything is based on a book, based on a poem, based on a play, based on a short story..... nothing is original anymore. and, even though this was an "original" (as in, same old plot that's in every movie) story, it still seemed so fake.
and i mean, Titanic was incredible because they actually BUILT everything and then destroyed it. and added in some effects afterward. i mean, tons of tiny and huge models.
i don't know. i guess i was just bored through it. i didn't really like any of the characters. i didn't even really understand what was happening until he actually went into the jungle. and even then, i still had questions.
it started and i sat down with Ruby and was like, "i don't even really know what the word 'avatar' means..." and so i was confused for the first like, half hour.
and then listening to Sam Worthington more and more it was like, "wait, has he been Australian throughout the whole movie?"
ALSO - i thought it was TOTALLY CREEPY whenever they would attach their ponytails to things to form that halo bond. the first time that happened it made me cringe. oooo yeah i didn't like that.
i REALLY LIKED the moment between (i don't even know their character names....) (um, hold on) ok, between Jake and Neytiri at the end when she saw him as the real person and not as the avatar. yeah. that part almost made me cry. it was really sweet.
and i like how everything was glowing at nighttime. that was super pretty.
Ruby Tuesday actually stayed awake for a lot of it. i think she maybe liked watching it? and hearing all the noises? the other movie she really seemed to be interested in was Coraline. so, maybe she likes digital films like that.
i like Coraline better that Avatar, just for the record.
ANYWAYS. so that's my review. slash rant.
OH!!!!!!! ONE MORE THING THAT I LOVED: there was a character named Trudy!!! just like in Titanic!! Trudy was Rose's maid! remember??? no, you probably don't. unless you're Maria.
i heard someone say 'Trudy' and i was like, "omg did they just say Trudy!? no, they couldn't've. noo.....OMG YES THEY DID!!!!!" it was very exciting.
ok. i think that's it.
i'm going to Maine tomorrow. just for the day. then back here for work tomorrow night.
SO! everyone take care! have a great rest of the weekend!!!! i'll talk to you all later :)

Julie

"be better, my dear lady"
THAT'S the other lyric from River City Extension that i love. remember i was trying to think of it? i love how he calls her, a 'dear lady.' those are two lovely words. dear and lady.
oh, and speaking of River City Extension, guess who emailed me today?
UM, JOE. THE LEAD SINGER. yes. i returned from court today to find a lovely email from 'Joseph' in my inbox. i was so totally excited i had to keep reminding myself that i was at work so i couldn't freak out.
i had emailed him a while back to thank him for emailing me the bonus song, Ballad of Oregon. and i also included some other stuff, like how it was a bummer they couldn't make it to the Portland, ME show, how i loved reading their blog.... etc.
and he emailed me back again! ohhhh it was lovely.
and THIS, plus the Blood Feathers tweet, plus the tweet from Robert Schwartzman makes me feel pretty happy.
anyways. i was watching the baby sleep, but he's awake now and his mother is home.
going to court today was fine. super quick and easy. met a very attractive social worker, which was nice. the resident who i was bringing ended up driving back to the house with her dad, so i drove by myself. which worked out well because i listened to River City Extension the whole way!!! nice change from the Eminem cd we listened to the whole way there.
in other news: i think my toilet was fixed this morning. the executive director went up to my apartment and came down with some broken parts. and i know he went out to the hardware store after. so, i'm hoping it's fixed. that'd be great.
in other news: i bought a dress yesterday for $10 at wal-mart. it's hott pink with neon orange and purple. YEP. i tried to restrain myself from buying it. but i wasn't strong enough. $10! hott pink! and the purple in the dress matches my new purple nailpolish perrrrfectly. so it's a win win.
in movie news:
- i watched It's Complicated. loved it. laughed a lot. really loved the whole family dynamic. loved Meryl's house. loved everything.
- watched Leap Year. really liked it. pretty silly, but great. Amy Adams was totally beautiful, i thought. especially the middle part where her hair is in the ponytail and they kiss at the table for the first time. yeah, i thought she was gorgeous. i laughed SO HARD when she tried to pronounce the guy's name in the bar. his name is 'Eoghan,' which i knew from being in Ireland last year is pronounced 'Owen.' but, listening to her try and say it was so funny and made me think of how much fun we all had.
i also have Avatar with me, which, i am ashamed to admit - i haven't seen yet. I KNOW. please don't judge me. not sure if i'll get to watching it tonight because it's pretty long. and i'm pretty tired. maybe i'll start it? i don't know.
but, i'm doing pretty well, non-sleep wise. i've been at work for just about 10 hours. and i'm super ready to go home. hasn't been a busy day, but that trip to Brattleboro is like an hour and 15 minutes each way, so that's tiring. it was nice to split up the day, though.
BUT - yeah i'm ready to go home.
and i have 3 hours off - and then back to work!!!! i'm not sure what i'll do with my 3 free hours. probably hang out. i don't want to take a nap because i want to try to get back on a semi-normal sleep schedule. but, that may never happen.
ANYWAYS. i think that's it. hope everyone is having a great day!!! talk to you again soon :)

Julie

um, AWESOME!!
UNANIMOUS. well, almost unanimous. about the clothing choice. EVERYBODY chose the brown dress with white cardigan - WHICH I'M WEARING RIGHT NOW.
We had a total of 8 votes. 7 people chose the brown outfit and 1 person chose the brown, orange and teal plaid dress.

That's right now!!! Like, just a minute ago I took that. I would have a full photo shoot, but I'm at work right now and want to appear professional. Even though there's nobody else here.
ANYWAYS,
THANK YOU for helping me choose my outfit for today! I admit, it was not what I would have chosen, and it surprised me that everybody picked it! And I haven't worn this dress in a long time. So, it's good that everybody picked it. I'm wearing it and thinking, 'why haven't I worn this dress in so long?' And now I remember that I like it, and will wear it more often! Great!
We leave for court in like, 45 minutes.
Anyways. Here's something else exciting!
So, the night last week where I watched all the episodes of Bored to Death, there was one episode that caught my eye. (i mean, they were all eye catching, as they all starred Jason Schwartzman.)
But! The 5th episode, 'The Case of the Lonely White Dove, in which Jonathan investigates his case out on Brighton Beach in this Russian nightclub, was particularly inspiring.
At one point, Jonathan (played by Jason Schwartzman) calls his ex girlfriend to invite her out to the nightclub because she has always wanted to go to Brighton Beach. His girlfriend, Suzanne (played by Olivia Thirlby) is shown here, answering his phone call while out walking her dog.
Now, please look very closely at the pictures, as there is something most awesome to notice.

and NO - it's not her totally hott, fashion forward HOTT PINK TRENCH COAT. It's her totally great PURPLE NAIL POLISH. I know it's super hard to see, but it's there. And it's awesome.
I saw it and thought, "HOLY CRAP why don't I have awesome purple nail polish?!!" I have a light purple shade, which is what I was currently wearing, but I didn't have a great shade like hers. So, I went out and bought some! And I'm wearing it now, and it's great.
Yep. I love that show. Can't wait for season 2!
So, last night I set my phone alarm clock for 7am, because I had to be at work by 8am. And, I finally fall asleep around 4am. Lame.
Did my phone alarm go off? No. No it did not go off. So, I woke up at exactly 8am! The time I was supposed to be at work. GREAT. It made me momentarily very stressed out. But, at least I knew what I was going to wear! I rushed getting ready, but still had time to straighten my hair. I THOUGHT I had turned on my coffee pot to make coffee, but I didn't.
So, I don't even have coffee. I think I'll stop on my way to Brattleboro.
But - yet another reason why I dislike my phone. WHY is the alarm so sketch? Or, the better question is why do I keep trusting that it will work when I need to be awake for important things?? Yeah, that doesn't make sense.
Hm. So yeah. I have my CD player alarm clock with me. What I should do, is burn a lullaby CD so I can play that in the CD player and then use my iPod alarm clock, which works great. Yeah. I should do that. Change my set up.
UUGGHHH I'm kind of DREADING going to court. I haven't been in such a long time. Probably a year. It just always makes me so nervous.
OH OH OH OH!!!!!! I HAVE TO TELL YOU ANOTHER AWESOME THING!!!!!!! Yeah, SO AWESOME. OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO TELL YOU.
I got yet another awesome tweet from awesome people!!!!! From who, you ask?
BLOOD FEATHERS!!!!!! The totally great Philadelphia band who opened for Crash Kings when Ryan and I saw them in Philadelphia!

(We're headed to Boston in October. Help us get the word out. Love the Sweet Tea pic.)
AAHHHHHH SOOOO AWESOME!!!! A while back (like, early May, I think) I had sent them a picture of a sweet tea I bought because I felt like one after listening to their song, 'Sweet Tea.' Love it! But, I haven't tweeted them since! Yeah, that's pretty awesome.
So, I'm gonna start now:
BOSTON. OCTOBER 7. BLOOD FEATHERS AT THE ROYALE.
Oh, I'm totally gonna get the word out. Remember when I had that 'Crash Kings on Jimmy Kimmel' sign at the top of this blog to promote Crash Kings on TV? I think I may construct a sign for Blood Feathers. I'm so excited!!
I also thought about putting up posters in Boston. But, it's a bit too early for that. Anyways - they can count on me. And maybe Ryan will help too!! Since, she'll actually BE in Boston.
So awesome.
Anyways, I should get going. It's 9:58am. We're leaving in like, 15 minutes.
I hope everyone has a great day! Please think of me when I'm freaking out in court. I'm working until 6pm, so I'm sure I'll talk to you later.
Until then, take care!!! Be well!! Stay cool!!
love, Julie

YOU DECIDE:: COURT OUTFIT
this is like one of those, 'choose your own ending' blog entries!
I did this once before when I had to go to court and you all picked out a great outfit for me! Thanks again! And, now that I am scheduled to go to court TOMORROW, THURSDAY, JULY 8TH, I need your help again!
The courthouse is in Brattleboro, Vermont, and the last time I was at this courthouse, it was pretty casual. It should be a really quick thing.
WHICH OUTFIT, should I wear?!
OUTFIT #1: Dress, Gap. Navy blue dress with different sized flowers in different shades of purple. I would probably wear it with black leggings and my black flats. Probably bring my yellow cardigan in case of overpowering air conditioning. Maybe also wear with my pearls.

OUTFIT #2: Dress, Old Navy; Cardigan, Target. Halter-style brown dress with white detail. Would not wear a necklace with this dress. Not sure what shoes either... possibly my tan, open-toed platform shoes. My sparkly gold flats?

OUTFIT #3: Dress, Target; Cardigan, Old Navy. Here we have a brown, orange and teal plaid strapless summer dress with flowery design on the bottom. I would definitely wear this with brown leggings. For shoes, either the sparkly gold flats or the tan open-toed platform shoes. The thing that's special about this one is that I made a necklace especially to wear with this dress, so that's what I would wear.

ALRIGHT, FRIENDS! I PUT MY TRUST IN YOU TO DECIDE!!!!!!
Please respond with your selection in the comments section, or by the blog email address located on the left of your screen.
THANK YOU!!!!

bummer thursday
i don't want to complain. but, i'm not excited about tomorrow. thursday. 7/8.
i'm working 10pm wednesday night until 6pm thursday. not only is that a long stretch, but i have to go to court in Brattleboro, VT in the morning. i'm not a fan of courthouses because they are just full of people who think they're better than you.
so, that will be a bummer time. plus, i have to look nice. and it's so hott that it might be kind of impossible to look nice. i'll probably wear a dress. if i remember correctly, the court in Brattleboro is pretty casual. maybe just a sundress and cardigan? ugh, i don't know.
anyways, so i'm working until 6pm. then i have 3 hours off. and then i work again, 9pm to 8am.
MORE BUMMER.
i've been working for 2.5 weeks straight. i guess i'm just not used to it, after having 3 straight months off. and i'll be working straight up until JULY 23, which is my first night off!!!!! and it's a good night off, because it's THE ROONEY CONCERT!!!!! AND HANSON!!!!!!
and then the next day is CRASH KINGS!!!!!!
well, i'll work for like, a month straight, and then i'll have 9 days off all really close to each other. and they will include most awesome things like:
- kara's birthday on 29 july!
- 4 crash kings shows
- 2 river city extension shows
- 1 rooney/hanson show
and i'm pretttyy sure i can get all those days off. i've been working out my vacation time and regular 2 nights off a month, plus the july 4th holiday.... and it should be enough!!!!!!
although, after the 8th of august i may not have another night off until september....
BUT, i am very positive that the after-excitement from all those awesome, amazing concerts will last a while. i can go pretty long on concert-high.
ALRIGHT. right now, i have to go to the dreaded wal-mart to buy shampoo and body wash. and then i have to go to the grocery store, i think. i'm hoping one of those places will have lavender oil. but, i might have to go to the drug store for that. or the health food store, which is closed right now.
anyways, sorry for my complaining a little. i have an pretty low-key job, which i shouldn't complain about. and i work with amazing people. and there ARE hours where i don't work. but the fact that i live at work is mostly a hard thing.
ANYWAYS, SORRY AGAIN.
hope everyone is staying cool in both the 'not being sweaty' way and the 'keeping awesome' way.
have a great wednesday night!!!

TODAY I:
- did three loads of laundry
- finished season 2 of True Blood
- started season 3 of True Blood
- ate pie
- cleaned my oven
- cleaned my stove
- killed a hornet and two other creepy flying things with the help of Ruby Tuesday
- painted my nails purple
- cleaned out some drawers in my bureau
i had a good day. also, i checked my hair for lice and it's NEGATIVE!!! alright!! there's been a tiny outbreak in the house, which is why i've been having to spray the furniture and do head checks. and then i figured i should probably check my own head. it was also the motivation for washing all my sheets and towels in hot water. it needed to be done anyways.
i guess i'm not freaking out about the lice. the outbreak of bed bugs last year was pretty much the worst.
although, it would SUCK if i got lice.
um, let's stop talking about this.
let's talk about True Blood and how i watched all of season 2 in like, 3 days. no, maybe it's more like 5 days. that makes me feel better. there are only 12 episodes in the season. and MAN it's so good. like, crazy, though. at one point, during the season finale with all the crazy demon people and the demon witch lady with the claw hands i was just laughing like, "what the hell is going on!?!?"
but then it got scary and gross again and i got serious. i definitely think season 2 was grosser than season 1. but, i could still handle it. the part that grossed me out the most was during Bill's flashback to the 1920's when him and his maker were living together in Los Angeles and they kill that couple and drink their blood, and then there's just blood everywhere and they start having sex on the blood soaked bed. THAT part really grossed me out and i had to look away for a moment.
but i can pretty much handle it.
although you know who's hard to handle? um, Alexander Skarsgard. what a hottie! maaannn he's so tough and scary.... but then he smiles..... ahhhh it's so nice. and he's just so tall! he towers over EVERYONE! like father, like son, right?
remember when i was totally in love with his father - Stellan Skarsgard. who, i guess i'm still probably in love with. oooo yeah. i like those Swedish men. of course we all know Stellan as Bill from Mamma Mia! yep. the hott dad!!!
but, whoa. first Stellan and now Alexander. i think this is the first time i've had a crush on a father and son. i suppose it's kind of strange. you'd think i would have been in love with Alex first, and then his dad. but nope, opposite.
i mean, i've fallen in love with my fair share of brothers..... never a father and son before. it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
although, i don't know what i'm talking about. Alexander dates Kate Bosworth. but like i said to Kara in an email tonight, i'm pretty sure he has like, 5 younger brothers. :) yes please.
anyways. i might watch one more episode and then go to bed. i should go to bed now. it's 2:27am. hm. i'm not really tired.
oh! i forgot to tell you TWO awesome things!!!
1. yesterday at Dunkin Donuts i pulled up to the drive-thru window and the lady asked, "do you want a free magnet?" and i said, "sure!!" and i got a free Dunkin Donuts magnet!!! FOR FREE! it was great. and then she said, "are you driving a Prius?" and i said, "yes!" and she said, "oooo i want one of those!!" and i said, "it's pretty awesome." it was great. FREE MAGNET!!!!!
2. Kara's bakery had a pastry tasting over the weekend and since Kara is the head/only baker at the place, she baked everything for the tasting. AND - she was out in her bakers uniform during the afternoon and some guy comes over to her and tells her that she is the "best baker in New England." FOR REALZ. that happened!!!
instant recap: after eating Kara's baked goods, some guy tells her that she is the best baker in New England!!!!
NEW ENGLAND! that's SIX STATES! that means that maybe there is a better baker out there in the other 44 states, but probably not. it's that awesome?! Kara is becoming kind of a local celeb. also, she had someone special order a birthday cake and when they picked it up the lady said to her that she'd be calling Kara again because she does a lot of entertaining.
awesome! i'm so proud of Kara. she's a great baker, for serious.
anyways, that's pretty much all.
it's hottttttttt today. and i don't appreciate it. so, Earth, if you could speed up your rotation around the sun, that'd be great. let's get back to winter please. kthx.
alright! now it's 2:39am. ooooo i'm REALLY not tired. but i KNOW i should try and go to bed. but i REALLY want to watch one more episode of True Blood.
maybe i'll get into bed and watch an episode. that kind of seems like a halfway point.
also, i may or may not be coming down with a cold. i can't really tell. but i've been sneezing a lot. today my teeth and head hurt. and i've been having to put in eye drops like, 4 times a day.
i guess it could also be allergies since i'm pretty sure i've built up tolerance for my allergy meds.
whatever. anyways, ok. you all have a great week!!
TODAY, is 5 July, and it is my friend Ross's birthday! Happy Birthday Ross! i don't know if you're reading this - but i miss you. and i've been thinking about you a lot lately. i hope you are having a wonderful time doing whatever you're doing, and we should see each other soon. also, remember that time that you, me, and Rob sang 'Aicha' in the hallway of G1? like, we sang the whole song. and probably made fun of the Aicha kid. that was a fun time.
yeah, that link right there, you all should click on it. i can't tell you how many times i've seen that video. of that kid's homemade music video to 'Aicha.' MAN, that kid is a legend.
and oohhhh i miss college. i've really been missing my first year of college. that was a great year. all the years were great.
yeah. all the years were great. MAN i have great friends. and college was awesome. and i want to go back.
OK - I JUST DECIDED SOMETHING. i need to become Captain of the Airport Lounge. STAT. like, right now.
WHO is in charge of the Airport Lounge right now, because it's not me and it NEEDS TO BE. omg why haven't i thought of this before?!??!
i need to go back to Chicago and buy those airplane wings i saw in that cool vintage store with Kerianne!! what was that store...!!?!? Hollywood Mirror!!! was that it? yep. i need those wings. and i will also buy them for every Airport Lounge Flight Attendant.
OH MAN - i totally rocked that lounge when i worked there. now i can rock it again as Captain. YEP. this is my calling. what i was born to do.
STEP ONE:
1. the Airport Lounge needs a Twitter.
yep. rocking this already. also: CARDIGANS. yep. all the Airport Lounge Flight Attendants will wear cardigans. light blue ones. with orange name tags, and pilot wings.
alright. i'm gonna work on this.
now it's 3:04am. and i'm all excited thinking about the Airport Lounge. ohhhh i love that place.

yes, that tab is open to my livejournal. which i updated quite frequently while on shift at the APL.

oh wow, who designed that awesome sign?!!? UM, ME.

remember when there used to be all those clocks in the APL, just like a real airport? and under the clock set for Eastern time, it said this.

and it's me! wearing some adorable polka dotted hair accessory!! even during my 5-8am shift!!! hey, there were still people to impress during those late night hours.
OH MAN I MISS HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE. yep. it's coming on strong. it's a strong miss right now. like just after i graduated.
man i'm feeling very sad right now. but also very LUCKY and FORTUNATE that i had the absolute most best amazing time ever and met the most totally wonderful people in the whole world.
i miss Boomin Breakfast.
i have to go back. ♥
goodnight friends. i've enjoyed our time together tonight.
take care.

sweet moonbeam
i'd like to live in this house please. kthx.
at work right now. it's 5pm. working until 8am. we're watching A Lot Like Love. mmmmashtonkutcher. i just love him. he's one of those guys that i'll see any movie he makes. he just makes everything more enjoyable. yeah he does. great soundtrack in that movie. there's a JET song! the song they didn't play ANY of the three times i saw them.
i don't know why i was thinking about that the other day. i was listening to that song and thought, "why didn't they play this when i saw them 3 times in 4 days?!"
great story, right? yep. it's literary gems like that that keep you coming back.
before we put on A Lot Like Love, we were watching The Notebook. just the end of it. BUT! i didn't realize that Eric from Entourage is in it! he plays Ryan Goslings friend, Finn! it was awesome! i looked up at the screen and it was E! ohhhh how i love Entourage.
The Notebook? eh. saw it once and it was enough.
have i talked about when babies sneeze it's the cutest thing ever? because there's a baby in the living room with me right now and he just sneezed twice. it's so freaking cute. he's about to be 4 months old. cutie!
although, not a cutie when he was screaming and crying while i was holding him a little while ago.
i keep going back and forth about wanting a baby. like, my own baby. obviously not right now or anytime soon. i don't know. lately i've been thinking i don't want any. and that's okay. and maybe that will change and maybe it won't.
but speaking of babies, a few nights ago i had a dream i had a baby with 12 fingers. 6 on each hand. weird, right? tried to look up what it could mean, but didn't get very far. and there was some mention of what an amazing piano player the baby could be. strange.
so.
i've been watching season 2 of True Blood. i'm like, 6 episodes in. GREAT. yeah, so great. pretty gross. i'd say it's grosser than the first season. and maybe not as sexy either. i really like Eric. or, Erik. he's pretty funny, even when he's being horribly terrifying.
also, i've been super listening to 'Hey, Soul Sister' by Train. it's a great song. it's currently my new wedding song. if i ever get married.
also, i've been eating a lot of tofu! i like tofu whenever i have it, but i never know what to do with it when i buy it. but i've been making it my mission to experiment. so i've been MARINATING.
first night i marinated it in a peanut sauce that i bought. which turned out to be way too spicy. it said, "mildly spicy" on the jar. but, my lips were on fire. my tongue was on fire. my throat was on fire. it felt like an episode of Man v. Food when it's a spicy challenge. and he's like, "this is 75 times spicier than a jalapeno!" that's what it felt like. although, this is coming from a person who cannot handle ANY spicy. barely even the medium salsa.
but, i cooked up some cous cous and chickpeas to eat it with. and it was delish, except for the spicy. i ended up having to get some frozen mango out of the freezer and taking bites of the mango in between the bites of the spicy tofu. yeah, so maybe i'm a spice wimp.
anyways, the next day i tried to recreate the marinated tofu sandwich that i used to get at The Bridge Cafe at Hampshire College. turned out pretty good. let the tofu soak in soy sauce for about 15 minutes. not as salty as the sandwiches at the Bridge, so that was good.
and then last night, i marinated it for about 40 minutes in this fruity hawaiian marinade. grilled it up with some pineapple and then ate it with the leftover cous cous and chickpeas. delish!
so i bought more tofu at the grocery store today to try more experiments. i'm excited. i'm really good at making chocolate tofu cream pie. YUM. that's good.
HEY! the resident here asked me to print out the lyrics to the JET song that played in the movie!!! awesome! she also asked me to print out the lyrics to the Bon Jovi song that Ashton sings in the courtyard.
movie's over now. we were going to watch The Prince and Me, but instead she put in The Hot Chick. starring Rob Schneider. :/ we'll see how that is.
OKAY! tonight my plan is to watch more True Blood. there's nothing more patriotic then vampires and sex.
so, happy july 4th weekend! i like July 4th because it means i get an extra day off this month!! thanks, USA.
alright, have a great night friends. i'll talk to you all later!
AND IF YOU'RE IN MAINE THIS WEEKEND: please make note that Crash Kings are also in Maine. and I am not. also, She & Him are playing also. SON OF A GUN, they are live broadcasting the festival!
the Nateva Festival. Crash Kings played at 3:15 this afternoon. CRAP. i bet it'll be archived to watch later.
alright. have a great afternoon. evening. middle of the night. morning. everything!
love!

SCHWARTZMAN @ JULIE
FOLKS, IT HAPPENED. and it was glorious. glorious and fantastic and terrific and wonderful and amazing and lovely and perfect and so, so, sosososo freaking awesome.
what happened, you ask?
ROBERT SCHWARTZMAN TWEETED ME BACK!!!!
I KNOW - took him long enough. i have tweeted him many, many things. and TODAY he finally responded. was it everything i hoped for? YES. i mean, it wasn't the marriage proposal i secretly wanted - BUT IT WAS STILL GREAT.
let me explain.
FIRST OF ALL, we all know who Robert Schwartzman is because i sometimes never stop talking about how much i love him. BUT, just for a refresh:
- he is the lead singer of one of my fave bands, Rooney (the band that Crash Kings toured with, which is how i heard of CKs)
- he is JASON SCHWARTZMAN'S little brother. yes, THE Jason Schwartzman that i have been in love with for a very, very long time.
- he was the love interest in The Princess Diaries! (not the mean one, the nice one who she ends up with in the end.)
- his mom is Talia Shire from the Rocky movies. so, he's got all the Coppola family connections.
WHATEVER - he's in Rooney, which is the most important thing. and i'm seeing them THIS MONTH with HANSON!
so, the Rooney tour just started over on the west coast a few weeks ago, and Robert does tour video diaries every now and then. they're wonderful. like, really, really wonderful. but, he's been wearing this hat that says, 'Captain' that i'm totally jealous of. he's been wearing it all the time.

this is Robert wearing the hat. I WANT THAT HAT. because how long have i wanted to be a ship captain? yeah like, a long freaking time.
and he's been wearing it everywhere. so, i finally sent him a tweet that said,

(@rcschwartzman where'd you find your 'captain' hat?! i love all the appearances it's been making.)
AND THEN ABOUT ONE MINUTE LATER HE RESPONDED:

(@Captain_Julie It's a secret!)
it's a secret!! he's such a cutie. and, you may notice, he's wearing the Captain hat in his tiny profile picture on Twitter. his profile picture used to be a pic of the KFC Double Down, which he is kind of obsessed with.
when they play Boston, i'm totally going to ask him again. i'll probs also tweet him that morning asking him to wear it. YEP.
ohhh it's so wonderful. i think our twitter names look great next to each other. :)
yep. great day. great moment. if you haven't heard the new Rooney cd, PLEASE check it out. it rocks. i know of TWO people who had never heard Rooney before, listened to the new cd, and are now total fans. yep. TWO PEOPLE.
alright. i had to share this incredible happening with you. i hope you all had wonderful moments today that equal the Schwartzman Tweet excitement.
have great nights! i'm going to watch more True Blood and probably eat something. i'm working saturday 3:30pm to 10pm. and then 10pm to 8am. but then again not until 10pm, so that's good.
take care! be well!
ciao!

"so hold out your hands..."
i have 'Raincoat' stuck in my head because i just referenced it in a tweet i just sent to Ryan. and now i'm in a good mood!
i'm at work right now. does it seem like i never leave work? yeah, i've been getting that feeling too. and it seems that when i'm not working, i'm sleeping. i feel like for the past week i haven't been doing anything except passing the time before i have to work again. it's kind of a bummer, but then i remember that i don't have any money anyways, so i technically couldn't go out and "do" anything. most things cost money. and i'm working a lot, which will earn money.
today i worked until 8am. now i am working 3:30pm until 6pm. and then working again at 9pm. in the time between 6pm and 9pm (really 8:45pm) i have plans to :
1. go to the grocery store
2. take a bath
i really don't have any food. or, i have food, just not anything that you can put together to make a meal. last night i made pizza eggs. with an english muffin. it was kind of like, "well, you have eggs. and you have pizza sauce and cheese."
voila! pizza eggs!! it was kind of delicious. and this morning i again had eggs with toast. because that's kind of the only substantial thing i have.
so! i will go to the grocery store tonight. although, it's kind of one of those times when you go to the store and it's like, "what do i get that will be delicious, will last a while, and won't get boring?" it feels like i'm starting from scratch. because, for a while, i was trying to eat everything in the house so to use up what i had. but then like two days ago it got to the point where, i no longer had anything in the house.
SO. grocery store trip. i also need coffee. coconut coffee. i might also buy tofu.
last night was great. i watched SIX episodes of Bored to Death, the wonderful HBO show starring Jason Schwartzman. also Ted Danson and Zach Galifinackis. i totally just spelled his name however i wanted to. and i'm not going to look it up to see if it's right.
anyways - the show is terrific. really, really, so enjoyable. there were many times i laughed out loud. LOL'd as the kids would say. it makes me want to live in Brooklyn! it also makes me want to marry Jason Schwartzman. but, it doesn't take very much at all for me to want that. he's so lovely. and it just makes me so happy that him and Robert are brothers. and that they love making music together.
it also makes me happy that Coconut Records does the theme to Bored to Death. ooohhhhh Coconut Records. i have that sticker that i still have to put on my car. why do i keep forgetting?!
anyways, everyone should watch Bored to Death. i believe the first season is being released on DVD in September. and it was definitely picked up for season 2 because they're filming it right now! in Brooklyn!
so, i watch something like that and want to live in Brooklyn. i watched Valentine's Day and wanted to live in Los Angeles. i visit Boston and want to live there. so many places. so little money.
and it makes me ANNOYED that Crash Kings WILL BE IN MAINE this weekend and i won't be. and that the freaking tickets cost so much money. so lame. what person in Maine has $200 to spend on tickets, PLUS the cost of either camping or hotel?? LAME!
anyways, i'll see them on the 24th OF THIS MONTH! my mom is coming and she is soooo excited! Kara says she never stops talking about it. this makes me really happy. i can't wait either. i really hope Kara comes. and Jo! i really hope Jo is able to come. but if she doesn't, then it just means she's on a totally awesome roadtrip! which is still super fun.
hm. what else.
i watched a video this morning on how to do a 'blowout hairstyle' on yourself. yep. i did that. and it got me all excited that maybe i could actually figure out how to do it! but then after i was excited i was just disappointed because i've tried this many times and it never works. and i hate using a blow dryer. and i never brush my hair anyways, so i just get all confused.
remember when i linked to that Paper Tongues photo? that i can't stop looking at? of Jordan? my future boyfriend drummer? YEAH, well, since then, they have been posting pictures of all their new tattoos, and it's been great. yep. great. it sounded like someone from a local tattoo parlor came onto their bus and gave them all tattoos.
i was listening to my fave Paper Tongues song 'Get Higher' last night. ooohhhh i love it.
i love the ACOUSTIC VERSION. and i love the NORMAL VERSION. i love the lyric that goes, "the feeling of your skin, it's lovely."
i love how he says, 'lovely.' just like i love the lyric in the River City Extension song, 'Too Tired to Drink' that goes, "and i think the way that you laugh is just darling." i love how he says, 'darling!' i think it's so sweet.
there's another RCE lyric that i love because it's so sweet.
BUT, getting back to Paper Tongues real quick, i know i talk a lot about what the country will be like when i am president. and i believe i've mentioned before that i am going to change the national anthem to the Paper Tongues song, 'For the People.' and i just wanted to say, that i am probably still going to do that.
i think it would be so much more awesome. like, before every major event to just ROCK instead of just standing (or sitting, because it's not illegal) there.
and speaking of awesome countries....
HAPPY CANADA DAY! to one and all. half of my family lives in Canada and i am half Canadian. so, it's a celebration!
except, i'm not doing anything special. probably won't do anything special on the 4th either. except avoid fireworks at all costs. which is hard because last year they set them off from the mountain right behind my house. me and Ruby were kind of traumatized.
hmmm..... what else to tell you about?!
had to spray all the furniture last night with Lice killing spray. yep. definitely wasn't excited about that. makes your skin all creepy crawly. just like when we had the outbreak of bed bugs. i think that was worse, though. yeah, that was worse. i couldn't sleep during that time.
i didn't see any earwigs in the apartment yesterday, but killed 2 this morning. one was in Ruby Tuesday's water bowl! that made me really upset. she is afraid of them too.
basically the moral is that this house is an insect magnet. and i hate insects, so it's a rough time.
i wish i could think of that other River City Extension lyric that i love.
but, i've gotten a few very positive comments regarding Gogol Bordello, the headlining band that RCE is opening for at the Starland Ballroom in NJ on the 31st. so, i think i might really try and go. and also start listening to Gogol Bordello, because apparently everyone loves them!
last night during an episode of Bored to Death, they were talking about Russian literature and there was a reference to Gogol, which made me think of the band, which reminded me that i should start listening to them.
ANYWAYS - it's now time for me to leave. yay.
time to hit the grocery store! at probably the worst traffic time of the day! hooray! ah well.
hope everyone has a lovely night! talk to you all soon.

CRASH KINGS/JONAS CROSSOVER
do you all understand how much i love Crash Kings? i hope you do. because it's a lot of love for that band.
do you also understand how much i love the television show JONAS? starring the Jonas Brothers? yes. i love it so much.
let me recap one of the most awesome things in the whole world.
i don't know if you know this, but the new season of JONAS recently premiered on the Disney channel. it's called, JONAS L.A. because they're spending the summer in Los Angeles. (normally they live in New Jersey.)
now, i do not have TV in my apartment, so i am unable to watch JONAS when it's actually on, but LUCKILY my good friends over at Netflix have made the show available in it's 'watch instantly' selection. you can watch the whole first season this way too. (i highly recommend it.)
last night Kara and i discovered that they will also be instantly viewing the second season, and are adding episodes as they air on tv. it's such an awesome feature. Thank You, Netflix.
ANYWAYS, so obviously, we watched the first 2 episodes that have aired so far. (they're fantastic.)
at the end of the first episode there was a little scene with Nick playing a guitar...
please take a look at these screencaps i have provided for you...

Now, to the average untrained eye these may seem like totally normal screencaps of a totally normal Nick, simply playing the guitar.
BUT TO THE CRASH KINGS TRAINED EYE you may see something totally different.....
i was watching the scene with Nick when suddenly i NOTICED SOMETHING and i exclaimed:
JULIE: OH MY GOD Tony has that shirt!!!!!
now please look at these pictures i have provided for you from when Crash Kings played The Mercury Lounge in NYC....

UM, NICK AND TONY TOTALLY HAVE THE SAME SHIRT.
do you have any idea how excited this made me? you probably don't. i was so excited about this, i almost had trouble sleeping last night.
i was pretty excited i noticed the shirt on Nick, considering he was wearing a cardigan over it, and holding a guitar. AMAZING, right?! i believe the shirt says, 'SHOUT &BE HEARD.' nice. and it probably cost like, $100.
i bet i know what you're thinking now....
you're thinking something like.... "Nick and Tony should wear those shirts on the Bro Tour 2011!"
at least, that's what i'm thinking!!
BRO TOUR 2011:
JONAS BROTHERS
HANSON
CRASH KINGS
KINGS OF LEON
JET
with special guests
ROBERT and JASON SCHWARTZMAN
it will be the best thing ever.
we all know that Joe Jonas loves Crash Kings because of that time he tweeted for everyone to start listening to them. i wonder if NICK also loves CKs? i wonder if he is also fascinated with Tony's clothing and bought the shirt because he knew Tony had it. Nick does wear a lot of red plaid....
WOW. yep, i think this is amazing. and oh man, i was so excited. i still am.
i'm so good at noticing when people are wearing the same thing. just admit it - i am.
remember the feather necklace? i noticed that Kate Winslet and Bar Rafaeli had the same feather necklace that i later found out Leo DiCaprio bought both of them.
also, remember when i noticed that Steve Martin was wearing the same shirt in 'Baby Mama' that Stellan Skarsgard was wearing in 'Mamma Mia!'
I HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!
oh boy, i couldn't wait to share this with you. i hope you're at least a tiny bit as excited as i am.
ALRIGHT! i don't really think it could get any better than this, so i'm going to go. should i tell Tony he has the same fashion sense as a 17 year old? hmm...
have a great night! i'll talk to everyone later :)
♥
do you also understand how much i love the television show JONAS? starring the Jonas Brothers? yes. i love it so much.
let me recap one of the most awesome things in the whole world.
i don't know if you know this, but the new season of JONAS recently premiered on the Disney channel. it's called, JONAS L.A. because they're spending the summer in Los Angeles. (normally they live in New Jersey.)
now, i do not have TV in my apartment, so i am unable to watch JONAS when it's actually on, but LUCKILY my good friends over at Netflix have made the show available in it's 'watch instantly' selection. you can watch the whole first season this way too. (i highly recommend it.)

days keep going by
HI.
wow i'm bored right now. woooowwwww so bored. i'm at work. it's 4:21pm. i've been here since noon. i'm here until 10. and then i'm 'on-call' until 8am. oh man it feels like i've been here a million hours.
i hadn't worked for three months, and now it feels like i never stop. it's harder too because i have to keep the baby monitor on all night, even when i'm in my apartment. so, that keeps me up. it makes 'intercom-type' monitor noises. and then when the baby wakes up, i wake up.
this morning, i got into bed at 2:45am. finally fell asleep around 4am. was awake from 5:30 - 6am. and then awake again from 7 - 8am. i was literally counting down the minutes until i could unplug the phone and shut off the monitor.
it's AMAZING how much better i sleep when i'm not working. like, i usually have no sense of anything when i'm asleep. but ever since i started working this job, i can DEFINITELY tell that i sleep better when i'm not on the clock. or, if i'm away from the house for a night.
ANYWAYS.
watched Remember Me last night. the one with Robert Pattinson and Claire from Lost. and Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper. i had heard from someone that they didn't like it, and from two others that they loved it. so - i was going in pretty neutral.
and i was kind of liking the movie all the way through. it was funny in parts. Robert Pattinson. ya know. but i was kind of thinking.... "what is this movie about?" like, it wasn't really going anywhere. kind of the same old story that we've all heard 1,000 times over.
AND THEN THE ENDING COMES OUT OF FREAKING NOWHERE!
i'm not going to tell you how it ends. but - i didn't like it. for a few reasons. it totally turned the movie into something i didn't want it to be, and didn't expect it to be. it seemed unnecessary and forced. dislike.
it was crazy. i kept thinking, "oh my god this isn't going to happen...this isn't going to happen." BUT YEP. it happened. you should see it and then tell me if you saw it coming.
i just didn't like it. sorry all you Remember Me fans.
but other than that... there's not much going on.
i'm getting really excited for all my concerts coming up. let's recap, shall we?
July 23 - Rooney and Hanson; Cape Cod, MA
July 24 - Crash Kings; Portsmouth, NH
July 31 - River City Extension; Sayreville, NJ (tentative)
Aug 3 - Crash Kings; Boston, MA
Aug 4 - Crash Kings; Providence, RI
Aug 5 - Crash Kings; Burlington, VT
Aug 8 - River City Extension; Boston, MA
if all these dates happen - it will be AWESOME. the RCE in NJ is tentative because i don't know if i'd have anyone to go with. they're opening for Gogol Bordello, which from my online research is a gypsy punk band. i bet it's pretty cool music. oohhhhh i love River City Extension.
i'm eating trail mix right now and it's great. i love eating the m & ms with the almonds :)
ok it's 5pm. GETTING CLOSER to the time where i can go home. but still keep working.
oh guess what?!?
KARA'S HERE!!!! for a visit until tomorrow! she arrived around 2pm! we hung out in the staff office for a while and now she's upstairs in my apartment taking a nap. wish i was doing the same!
ok. i think that's pretty much it.
John Tucker Must Die was playing in the living room. that ended, and Baby Mama just started. ohhhh Tina Fey you are wonderful.
OK. i think now that's it. i might start my logging for tonight so i can maybe head upstairs at 9 instead of 10.
i hope everyone is having a great day! and a great evening! and a great whenever you are reading this!!!
take care!!!!!

nice skin
i've had this photo open in one of my tabs for the past half an hour. i kept feeling guilty about looking at it so much, so i figured i'd just give in to the guilt and blog about it.
YES i'm using the blog as a confessional right now.
YES i've looked at that picture a lot.
that's Jordan from Paper Tongues. the rad hottie who plays drums.
THANK YOU, Paper Tongues.

A²
i learned that Ann Arbor, MI is known as "A²." since i've "been" in Ann Arbor on and off for the past week or so, i decided i should learn some things about it.
apparently it's super liberal! who knew!? Borders Books was founded there! great!
so, let me tell you about my day.
last night i stayed up until 1:30am. what was i doing? umm. well. ok, i'll just tell you. i spent almost two hours watching archived episodes of Robert Schwartzman's UStream videos. where he'll do a 'live chat' and answer questions, play songs, interview the new Rooney bassist, etc. it's kind of the best thing since the Rooney tour video diaries.
one of the reasons i love Rooney is because they are really great about connecting with their fans online.
so, the episode i watched was from the end of May. Robert was on his porch and he answered questions for an hour and a half! that's right. and i watched it all. yep. oh, it was so totally enjoyable.
he talked about in high school when him and Jason would carpool to school together. this made me excited. he also talked about filming The Princess Diaries! which made me excited too. and as always, he talked about his dog, Georgie. it was a great time.
AND IT WAS A GREAT WARM-UP FOR.....
the Crash Kings live chat that happened this morning!!! i can't believe i didn't blog to tell you about it. or did i? did i mention it? i can't remember. anyways, it was the first ever live video chat that the guys were doing.
it was starting at 2pm EST, so i set my alarm for 11:40, knowing that i would probably sleep through the alarm, but most likely wouldn't sleep past 2pm.
lo and behold, i slept through my alarm. didn't wake up until 2:20 EST. i literally JUMPED out of bed, ran to my computer and immediately started watching. i was super bummed i had missed the beginning.
it was only Mike and Jason! i was curious as to where Tony was. AND, Mike had this parrot crawling all over him. it was a pretty bird, i guess. her name was La Nina and she seemed to really like Mike. he would give her kisses. aw, it was kind of sweet, i guess.

Jason, Mike, La Nina.
the chat took place in Mike's backyard, which is lovely and tree covered. it was really cool to see the guys in a casual, not being formally interviewed atmosphere. Jason talked about playing drums barefoot. Mike talked about playing bass shirtless (and said "it would rule" if the Crash Queens shouted for him to take his shirt off. it was in response to Ryan saying that there would be Crash Queens at the North East shows asking for shirtlessness.) this made me giggle. Mike is so cute it's ridiculous.
so, where was Tony, you ask? ummm. he is currently in Michigan doing video edits for the 'You Got Me' video. Michigan? really? that's kind of a random place to be. Mike and Jason said he was there on Official Crash Kings business.
and then, Tony tweeted after the chat was over, saying he was in Ann Arbor doing video edits.
UMMMMM. YEAH.
this made me VERY excited because for some strange reason, Twitter thinks I'M in Ann Arbor, too. such a random place, right? like, of all the random places that Twitter could think i'm in, it's Ann Arbor. and of all the random places for Tony to edit the music video, he's in Ann Arbor.
SO, my friends, I'm naming this the first official sign that Tony and i are soul mates. simple as that. ♥
and so since i've been researching the city this past week, i decided to recommend this ice cream place for Tony to go.

this place! they have Key Lime Pie frozen yogurt that i really want to try. i seriously already had this picture saved on my computer because i tweeted that i was there last week! this is for real.
yep. so, that's the news. who knew Ann Arbor would play such an important role in my life?! it's great. and if Tony and i have a daughter, we can name her Arbor. i like this plan.
speaking of life plans, i decided that i want to move to Venice, CA and live on one of the canals. yep, just like Ashton Kutcher's character in Valentine's Day. which i saw. and loved.
and so i went on craigslist (CEO from Ann Arbor) and found an apartment overlooking one of the canals. it's going for $3200 a month. so, i'd need a roommate. or like, 5 roommates. yeah, 5 roomies could work. it's only a 2 bedroom. we'd have to put up some room dividers, i guess. it says there's a storage area on the side of the house. that could work.
yep, this is what i do in my spare time. plan my fake life. i should write a series of books about how to procrastinate, and one of them would be a step-by-step guide to planning your fake life.
Using Your Procrastination Time Wisely
By, Julie Evans
Volume 1: Planning your fake life!
Volume 2: Planning your fake wedding!
Volume 3: Starting a blog!
yep. college kids would worship me. i think this is kind of funny. Using Your Procrastination Time Wisely. haha. people love series of books!
i have wedding venues picked out all across the world. it's true. it may be pathetic, but it's true. although, no venue in Ann Arbor. i should get on that.
this is what you get when your job in college was an overnight student lounge monitor. this is also what you get when your real-life job is an overnight supervisor.
basically i need to pick jobs that don't require me sitting online, planning my better life. because this is what i do. and then i get sad that my real-life isn't as great as my fake-life. and this is why i GET NOTHING PRODUCTIVE DONE EVER. this is also why i am 100% Pisces. i am daydreaming my life away.
anyways, i'll work on my Ann Arbor wedding. not saying we'll get married there. but, still. it's good to have a back-up plan.
SO. i'm doing anything today. i had a busy morning. i woke up at 7:25am because the electrician was here again. his name is Mike. i kind of have a crush on him after meeting him twice in the very early morning hours. he's a nice guy. and handy!
and then i got back into bed around 7:40am. and then about 5 minutes later, the baby started fussing on the baby monitor and i got a call from his mother asking if i could come downstairs to watch him while she slept.
i told her yes. so, then i went downstairs and got the baby. he was fussy because he had a little upset tummy. how do i know this? because he spit up everywhere! awesome. so then i had to change his clothes. and then he felt better, so i rocked him to sleep.
then i went back upstairs to my apartment and my dad was awake and suggested that we go out for breakfast, since i was now off shift. so we did! we went to the Stone Arch Bakey. holy crap it was sooo hott and muggy outside. it started raining because of it. groooossss. this bakery is right in town and makes delicious bread.
then we came home, and i went back to sleep. and then i almost missed the Crash Kings chat and now you're up to speed!!
it's been a good day. except i was doing dishes this afternoon and found two earwigs. UGH. remember last summer how they were EVERYWHERE?!?! like, sometimes i was killing as many as 7 a night. and they are so gross and creepy looking. i was not happy about finding them today.
i think Kara might come up to visit this week! i would really love that.
hm. okay. i think that's all for now. i might take a bath tonight. watch a movie. actually, i might eat something right now. i'm hungry.
OKAY! hope you are having a lovely, wonderful day! i will talk to you all sooonnnn!!!!!
♥,
Julie
