OK, WHOA.
let me apologize for that last craziness of postings. i have no idea what happened. i didn't realize this until just now. i was blogging from my phone and something must have gone caddywonker on me. you should scroll down to the "oh hi, i didn't see you there" and start reading UPWARDS. weird, but i know you can do it.
right now i'm blogging from a computer.
no, not my computer, but A computer. more specifically, the one in the staff office.
it's currently 11:28pm. i was just hanging out with one of the residents. i told her i was going to see Rooney on sunday and she asked to see a picture of them online. she thought they were all pretty hott, and was very excited to learn that the lead singer was in the Princess Diaries.
then, weird thing, she happened to be reading the back of a movie case and asked,
RESIDENT: Have you ever heard of Erik Von Detten?
JULIE: Yes! He was in this really awesome Disney channel movie called Brink!
RESIDENT: About the skateboarders?
JULIE: Yes! And, actually, he was in Princess Diaries too.
RESIDENT: Who was he?
JULIE: The guy who she was in love with, but turned out to be a jerk. NOT the guy she ends up with.
RESIDENT: Oh yeah....he was mean to her on the beach. When they kissed!
JULIE: Yes!
so. yep. awesome story, right? Princess Diaries, man. such a freaking good movie.
anyways. today was a productive day. it started out great when i went to the post office and the guy there (not the ruggedly handsome one) knew my box number!! and he said, "i knew i'd make the connection between you and your box one of these days!" and i was soo happy and excited. i had been waiting for this day to come. now i feel like a real town resident. they know me at the post office. what more could you ask for?
then, i swung over to the bank! when i purchased my laptop online this past weekend, i had to have my "daily money limit" way upped so i could buy it. and, my mom suggested that now i down it again. so, i went to the bank and downed it. they were very helpful.
then i went to JoAnn Fabrics to purchase the fabric to repair my jeans, like i told you about in the next entry down. i also bought two things of thread.
then i went to the grocery store. i needed a few items. the guy at the deli was very nice and let me have a piece of cheese. i was excited.
everyone i encountered today was just very nice. and helpful. and friendly. it put me in a good mood. well, i was already in a good mood.
so, after i last talked to you, i decided to watch my Phantom Planet dvd. i know, after i went on and on about my zac efron dream, i decided on Phantom Planet. i got this sudden urge to watch a Phantom Planet blog video online, but obviously i couldn't because my laptop is dead. so i put on the dvd. there's a great opening where Alex talks about this 2.000 year old skull that they keep on the tour bus and everyone thinks it's haunted. man, i miss them.
i didn't repair my jeans, though, i repaired the pockets in my winter coat. because i wore my winter coat today for the first time this year and remembered that the pockets are pretty destroyed. the left one wasn't so bad, but i turned the right one inside out and it was pretty much all frayed.
so, the left one was easy to fix - i just sewed the seam back together. but the right one was a bit of an ordeal. it took up the majority of the time of the concert dvd. and then some of the second concert on the dvd.
i ended up cutting out most of the pocket. and just leaving about half an inch of the original fabric. then i went and got some of the shiny teal fabric that i got when Aliya was cleaning out her room. and i cut a big piece. i was going to attempt to recreate the pocket. and i got my pins out. and then i just started pinning the new fabric to the old. and i would resize the new fabric as it needed to get smaller, etc. and then i decided that if i wasted any more time planning it, then it probably wouldn't come out right.
so, i jumped the gun and just started sewing, kind of making it up as i went along. and, it came out friggen awesome. i totally created a new pocket! it might be a little big tinier than what it used to be, but it's still a great pocket. a pocket that's not frayed and doesn't have holes. i was very proud of myself.
and tonight i have to do the jeans, or else i'll have no pants for tomorrow. and tomorrow is our holiday staff lunch. and i have to wear pants.
hm. alright. i'm hungry now. and i haven't eaten dinner. it's currently 12:12am. tuesday morning. i've got my second disc of True Blood tonight. sexy! okay.
maybe my laptop will come today. oooo that'd be exciting.
alright friends. for real now.
OH OH!!! i know what else i wanted to tell you.
so, this morning the government delivery truck came with the food. my least favorite day of the whole month. he always comes at like, 7:45 in the morning. and he slides these huge boxes of heavy, frozen food off the back of the truck, and i have to catch them and carry them inside. then i have to unpack the boxes. let me repeat: 7:45 IN THE MORNING. that's pretty much still the middle of the night. anyways, it's always the same guy who comes. and we always say, "hi" to each other, things like that. but today! he saw me and said,
DELIVERY GUY: Guess what!?
JULIE: What?!
DELIVERY GUY: I quit smoking! That's why I've got this lollipop!
JULIE: Wow! That's great!
DELIVERY GUY: I've been using the lollipops as a replacement, and so far it's working!
JULIE: Congratulations!
DELIVERY GUY: Yeah, it's been one week so far.
JULIE: That's really great.
and it was really nice. and then i thought, "whoa, is this guy my friend?" and, i think maybe yes. i mean, we see each other once a month, for about ten minutes, at the most horrible time in the morning. we're both up way too early for our jobs. although, my job allows me to wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt. he has to wear real clothes. anyways. it was a nice interaction. and it made me very happy.
okay. THAT'S what i really wanted to tell you. and NOW i can go back upstairs.
i hope everybody has a great tuesday. i might go get an oil change. i haven't decided yet. and also maybe make a hair cutting appointment. i haven't decided that yet either. but, have a great day! i'll talk to you either sometime today, or later on tonight. but, definitely sometime. i'll let you know what i decide about the oil change and the hair cut.
ok great!! love you! bye!!
